August reunites with an old flame, Luke is maybe a little less of a baby about not having his powers, and Zooey is maybe not cut out for handling clients.

Zombie Apocalypse

lightly pink drink in a faceted Collins glass

0.5 oz white rum
0.5 oz aged rum
0.5 oz overproof rum
0.5 oz cognac
0.5 oz mezcal
0.5 oz velvet falernum
0.5 oz apricot liqueur
0.5 oz orgeat
1 oz lime juice
2 dashes angostura bitters
0.5 oz grenadine

Shake all ingredients except the grenadine, pour over crushed ice in a collins glass and float the grenadine on top. (It will not float, it is a syrup, this is silly but briefly looks like blood dripping down if you’re lucky and careful about how you carry it.)

This Zombie variation is even fussier than the original, and kind of frustrating if you make it all the way to the bitters and then fail to realize that the bottle you’ve grabbed doesn’t have a reducer and you dump at least half an ounce too much in.

It’s not bad, but I’m not sure the extra complication actually adds much. Hits like a truck when you have to drink two of them in a row.
