It’s always difficult to create a satisfying sequel to a high-concept film, and I don’t think they pulled it off here. It both had too many twists to try to distinguish itself and not enough changes to the central tensions of the plot. Still, fairly enjoyable and we’d totally watch a third.

Well, that escalated quickly. The mummy half of the book was interesting, the apocalypse half was boring and the resolution unsatisfying.
