Halloween 2024: Day Not Halloween

The Crow (2024)

I often don’t write anythong on Devil’s Night because it belongs to a very repetitive tradition older than this blog, but we do sometimes watch things other than The Crow itself. Such as this.

It’s not without its moments, but it has nothing to particularly recommend it. No sense of time, place, or pacing; no great soundtrack moments; and, perhaps most damningly, no sense of humour.

We had a spirited discussion afterwards about the ways it could be improved, but the movie as it stands is not really worth your time.

I don’t have a reliable witness to the exact year when we started watching this every year on the 30th, but it’s no later than 2006, and I think it’s probably 2004.

20 years later, I still really enjoy it and have no plans to give it up.
