While there are recycled gags here and there, the American television version makes some very smart changes to keep it feeling like more than a warmed-over rehash of the movie. Nadja, Colin, and Guillermo are a big part of that; while the other main characters could be swapped with a movie counterpart without anyone noticing, each of these brings something fresh and unique to the table.
