Halloween: Day 12
The Evil Dead
This may have been made for $17, but Sam Raimi wrings every ounce of tension out of that budget. The second film has better production values and the third film is a comedy classic, but this one might be my favourite.
Redcap
Over ice, stir together two parts Scotch and one part Cappelletti. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
(If you’re unfamiliar with this charming villain, the redcap is a murderous Scottish goblin who maintains the colour of their cap by soaking it in the blood of their victims.)
Strays by A. J. Thomas
Standard meet-cute M/M romance with a half-incubus and the hellhound bounty hunter who’s been hired to hunt him down. (On second thought, there’s very little standard about that scenario.)
