Halloween 2025: Day Halloween
Bram Stoker’s Dracula
“Oh, Quincey, please let me touch it. It’s so big!”
Visually impressive but a bloated and meandering plot. Probably worth watching just for Gary Oldman’s hair (with an honorable mention for Cary Elwes’s moustache.)
Dracula: Prince of Darkness
“Ten minutes ago we were stranded in the cold, miles away from anywhere. Now we’re warm. We’re going to be fed. And if that man’s master is anything like I think he’s going to be, we’re going to be entertained as well.”
We aren’t going to be entertained as well. Apart from Dracula’s resurrection via shower of blood, the writing is just a tired rehash of people being menaced and none of the acting is good (Christopher Lee is back but he has no lines and seems to be sleepwalking through the part.)
