Hocus Pocus 2

The Sanderson sisters are back, baby.

Hocus Pocus 2 had a tough job; it needed to match Disney’s modern-day sensibilities (where villains are evil for reasons rather than by nature) while being saddled with legacy villains from a movie that considered nuance anathema. The result isn’t terrible but is very clunky and ends up shortchanging the arcs of the other, more interesting, characters.

Shout-out to the actors playing the young witches, who camp up their roles almost as hard as Bette Midler.

Fruit smoothie sour beers are fine and this is a good one, but I always have to deduct points for lactose.
